Porsche 959, Version Two

Following in the footsteps of the iconic 959, which helped define the layout and technological capabilities of modern supercars and hypercars in 1989, the Porsche 918 debuted in 2013 as a hypercar that combined extremely high performance with driveability and technological ingenuity. Its design centers on an innovative hybrid drive system that combines a mid-mounted V-8 engine derived from the company’s Le Mans Prototype RS Spyder race car with two electric motors. These enhancements proved to be so potent that, in 2013, a 918 Spyder became the first production car ever to run a lap at the Nürburgring in under seven minutes.
