Over 220 license plates will be examined in the newest exhibit opening at the Petersen on Nov. 26th. These artifacts, which showcase the unusual stories behind license plates, offer a unique look not only at the history of the automobile, but also the history of California, the U.S. and the world.
The newest exhibit opening at the Petersen on Dec. 7 will look at some of Jaguar’s most iconic vehicles ranging from the 1937 SS100 to the latest F-TYPE roadster. A sneak preview of the exhibit, including Steve McQueen’s 1956 XKSS, will be on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the Petersen’s booth.

The Petersen Automotive Museum will celebrate the 60th anniversary of “America’s Sports Car,” the Chevrolet Corvette, with an unforgettable tribute March 1-2, 2013. The most anticipated and significant event of the weekend is the 60th Anniversary Gala featuring speaker Kirk Bennion, the Exterior Design Manager of the Corvette C7 Stingray and the west coast unveiling of the vehicle.
