1962 SHELBY
Cobra
First Cobra Built (Serial number CSX2000)

Shelby Cobra serial number CSX2000 was the first Cobra built by Shelby American. Although similar in appearance to the British AC Ace upon which it was based, the Cobra had numerous modifications, which enabled it to handle the increased power and weight of the Ford V-8 engine. Tested in England by Derek Hurlock and Carroll Shelby, CSX2000 was shipped to the Santa Fe Springs, California shop of noted speed equipment manufacturer Dean Moon for final assembly.
