An independent artist and resident of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan,
Charles Maher began his automotive journey at the wheel of a 1955
Chevy Bel Air and a Chrysler 300, the family cars. Early in his career,
Maher was a designer at Ford Motor Company then worked 14 years with
a graphics firm in Detroit designing production car graphics for
General Motors, Honda, Ford, and Toyota. His work has been displayed
at Concours d’Elegance events at Amelia Island, Meadow Brook,
and Pebble Beach and has also appeared in publications such as AutoWeek,
Automobile, Road & Track, and Automobile Quarterly. A graduate
of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in
Fine Art, he has also enjoyed two separate one-man shows at the Automotive
Hall of Fame Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Maher is a past president
of the National Automotive Artists Association and is a current member
of the Automotive Fine Art Society.
