Built by racing great Carroll Shelby, the Series 1 is a civilized, high-performance sports car. Unlike earlier Shelby Cobras of the 1960s, which were regarded as thinly disguised racing cars, the Series 1 is fully-equipped and has an aluminum space frame and carbon fiber body panels which contribute to a low 2850-pound weight. Although most Series 1 Shelbys are powered by the standard 320-horsepower V-8 engine, this car is equipped with a factory-installed supercharger that enables it to achieve an astounding 550 horsepower. This Series 1 bears serial number 00075 in honor of Carroll Shelby’s 75th birthday.
