Resembling a miniature motorcycle, the Cushman Eagle was equipped with a 2-speed transmission, front brake, telescopic front forks and a well-sprung seat that cushioned the impact transmitted by the rigid rear wheel. The robust 500cc engine was derived from a lawnmower unit and was rated at eight horsepower. Top speed was an estimated 55 miles per hour. Small scooters such as the Cushman were easily transported on bumper-mounted racks and were often seen at campgrounds and other recreational areas where they provided a convenient means to run errands or explore nearby attractions.
