Second Floor - Industry
The AA was designed and manufactured under the guidance of Kiichiro Toyoda, a loom manufacturer who successfully applied the production efficiency methods he conceived at his textile factory to the production of automobiles. By eliminating all wasted activity between operations, productivity and processes improved, eventually becoming the renowned “Toyota Production System.” Toyoda turned to America for inspiration for the design of the AA, which resembles the streamlined Chrysler Airflow.
