1954 Viking-Craft Quarter Roadster
Second Floor - Industry
This fiberglass-bodied runabout was built by Viking-Craft of Anaheim, California, a travel trailer manufacturer owned by Doug Caruthers who was also an early quarter midget enthusiast. The father of two boys, Caruthers formed the Quarter Roadster Association to standardize quarter midget rules and safety regulations. He also built the well-remembered Jelly Bean Bowl during the early 1950s on property that was acquired in 1955 by Walt Disney who terminated their lease just one year later in order to make room for Disneyland.
