1955 Suzuki Suzulight SF
Second Floor - Industry
Following the announcement in Japan of the “People’s Car” concept, aimed at spurring the development of affordable cars for the home market, manufacturing companies without prior experience producing passenger cars took up the task. These manufacturers developed a wide range of small cars equipped with a variety of innovative features. The Suzulight, built by motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki, was the first car produced under Japan’s industry-changing 360cc kei (light) car specification of 1955.
