1962 Shelby Cobra

Second Floor - Industry

When Carroll Shelby dropped an American V-8 engine into a lightweight British roadster, he created one of the most important American sports cars in motorsport history. This Cobra (chassis #CSX2001) is the first production car built and the first to enter competition, which resulted in continual modifications and upgrades to keep up with Shelby factory team cars. After a successful racing career in Europe, it was acquired by Bruce Meyer, who maintains the car in running condition and frequently drives it to shows and on rallies.
