1966 Ford Thunderbird

Third Floor - History

1966 Ford Thunderbird driven in Thelma and Louise. This is one of three Ford Thunderbirds that was used in the movie Thelma and Louise, number two of the three. We can tell it’s number two because the numeral two is stamped on the right-hand side of the bumper. The car is in very average condition. It’s not something that most people expect when they think of a Hollywood car, but it exemplifies the hard life that some of these Hollywood cars live. They’re not treated especially well during production. They’re only meant to serve a purpose, and then afterwards, this car was set aside. It was discovered in a open-air car lot in near-derelict condition and was refurbished for Mr. Peterson by George Barris.
