Secretly fabricated entirely by hand in the Yamaha factory in Shizuoka, Japan, the Toyota 2000GT was introduced in 1965 at the Tokyo Motor Show and was considered so exciting and desirable that two were transformed into roadsters for the 1967 James Bond movie You Only Live Twice. Fabricated in just two weeks, a 2000GT roadster was used in the movie by actress Akiko Wakabayashi, who 135 MPH portrayed Bond’s love interest in the film.
