1969 Mazda r130 luce
Third Floor - History
Having been a part of the Mazda product mix since 1965, the Luce (pronounced LOO-chay) model line was expanded in 1969 to include a rotary-powered luxury coupe. It was the only front-wheel drive rotary engine car ever built by Mazda and was especially notable for its attractive Giugiaro-designed Italian coachwork. Priced at a high 1.5 million yen, the R130 Luce was dubbed the “Lord of the Road” in Japan for its high performance and distinctive styling.
