1988 Porsche 959S

First Floor - Artistry

Introduced in 1986, Porsche’s 911-derived 959 was acclaimed as the world’s fastest and most technologically advanced road going production car built to that time. It featured a twin-turbocharged engine, special aerodynamics, and a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system that helped get its great power to the road by improving traction. A lightweight “S” version complete with roll cage, special seat belts, and a race-tuned suspension was offered at substantial additional cost. Production of the 959 totaled 292 of which a mere 29 were the “S” variant.
