2017 Ford GT
Second Floor - Industry
Ford stunned spectators at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit by unveiling a new Ford GT, the successor to its 2005 GT and 1960s GT40 race and road-car series. Unlike its predecessors, the 2017 GT uses a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6. The car is made of carbon fiber, and its advanced aerodynamic form lets air pass through the body as well as around it. When the GT enters 2016 production, it will commemorate 50 years since Ford’s original GT40s took first, second and third places at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
