Michelin 24 Hours Forza Challenge

DATE: JUNE 16, 2018

24 Hours of Le Mans is the world's oldest endurance race. Held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France, it is one of the most prestigious automobile races in the world and is often called the "Grand Prix of Endurance and Efficiency."

“Le Mans takes the best out of everyone," says Tom Kristensen (aka “Mr. Le Mans”), a record nine-time Le Mans Champion. "Winning is important, but it’s not everything. It’s such a big and great event in motorsport. You do more kilometers in that one race than Formula One does in a season, and probably a higher average speed. We average about 220 km/h including pit stops and cover nearly 5,000 km.”

On Saturday, June 16, the Petersen Automotive Museum presented one of the largest and most interactive e-sport events of the year. The Petersen, in conjunction with Michelin and Forza Motorsport, hosted an immersive Le Mans viewing party where you could watch Le Mans live and compete in person for digital on-track dominance in the Bobby Rahal Family Gallery. All attendees had the chance to set a lap time in Forza, entering them to win an Xbox One S 500GB Console or Petersen Museum dual membership.

The ticket included museum admission, access to the Bruce Meyer Family Gallery with regional auto industry aficionados, a 30-minute Le Mans focused Vault tour at 3:30 pm, food and drinks, and DJ Sam Kofa.

Come join us next year to set your own digital track record!
