Describe why you decided to support the Petersen Automotive Museum with your membership: Growing up as a child, I've always been fascinated with the shapes, sounds, and speeds of different cars. I would stare at the cars driving around me when my parents drove me to school, to soccer practice, or to my swimming lessons. I've always had a dream of one day owning an exotic car, whether it be a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Porsche. By becoming a member of the Petersen Museum as an adult, I can now share this fascination and excitement with my wife, family, and friends. The car community is a place that enthusiasts of all ages, races, and backgrounds can come together to share personal stories of adventure, triumphs, and laughter. Thank you, Petersen Museum for bringing all of us together.
Describe how you found or developed an interest in automobiles: Growing up as a child, my favorite cars were the Dodge Viper and Lamborghini Countach. These two exotic cars cannot be any more different, yet to me, they each had their own unique personalities. One represented raw American muscle and had a curvaceous, aggressive design. The other embodied a compelling story of a young man who grew up on a farm and wanted to prove to the world that even though he was not born into wealth, he could still leave behind a legacy. The design of the Countach reminded me of a fighter jet. It was so ahead of it's time that even now, it grabs just as much attention as some hypercars.
As an avid car enthusiast and driver, I have driven many different cars, ranging from vans (my first car was a Mazda MPV), station wagons to exotic sports cars. My favorite car to date is the Lamborghini Huracan. I have not yet driven the new Mclaren 720S or Ferrari 488 GTB so I may like them as well. The first sports car I was able to afford on my own was a 2015 C7 Z51 Stingray. I drove that car through canyons, the desert, by the ocean, on several racetracks, and even on an airstrip. One day, my wish is to be able to drive a Lamborghini Huracan Performante or a Mclaren 720S. I was able to attend the unveiling of the 720S at the Petersen Museum last summer and it was one of the most memorable nights of my life. My wife had such a great time as well. Every attention to detail from the catering service to the ambiance was carefully planned. The actual unveiling of the car was unforgettable.
