Teen Auto Workshop
This summer the Petersen Automotive Museum launched its Teen Auto Workshop, presented by Jack Roush and Roush Performance. As vocational education has declined in high schools, students have lost the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in subjects such as automotive mechanics. The Teen Auto Workshop is designed to help fill this gap. In this inaugural year, fifteen local students are gaining first-hand experience by working on a 2011 Ford Mustang. Students will upgrade various systems on the car, including suspension and brakes, and will refresh its exterior and interior. In so doing, they will learn the basics of maintaining a car and experience the excitement that comes from seeing a project through to completion.
