Hey there! We are the Rosene Family (Travis, Lexi, Finley, and Zealand). We are a young family from Southern California. We have many hobbies and prioritize adventure and time together as a family! Last August we finished building out our 2017 Mercedes Sprinter Van 3500 170 Wheelbase. We purchased our van new, off the lot, as an empty cargo van. Over a span of 8 months, we transformed our Winston into a cozy home on wheels. We enjoy extended trips all over the American West but usually find ourselves close to home near the sea.

The purpose of converting our Sprinter Van was to fulfill our dream of traveling full time as a family. We are currently working towards being able to hit the road full time for a year-long road trip around the US and into Canada. We also have always dreamt of having a Sprinter van for our frequent beach days, a place where we can put our kids down for a nap, cook up delicious meals, and use our own bathroom.

When coming up with our Van layout, we had a few key elements we knew we wanted to include. We had to get pretty creative when scheming up ideas, with having two kids comes a lot of stuff! We knew we wanted a large kitchen area because we spend a lot of time cooking and eating and snacking, we knew we wanted a walkway all the way through to the rear doors, an outdoor heated shower, a table for all of us to share meals together/work/homeschool at, a private bathroom, as much functional storage as possible, outdoor storage for all of our gear and two separate sleeping areas. The most difficult design aspect for us was our kids' bed. We did a lot of trial and error builds and after three attempts, we finally found something that is functional and practical set up and break down.

Having children makes traveling a little more interesting, and a lot slower, but the smiles and memories made are always worth it. We hope to inspire parents to keep the stoke alive and continue to get out there adventuring with their kiddos in tow! If anything having kids is all the more reason you should be exploring and showing them the world.
