How did you find your 964? Where did you find it?
I found my 964 through an online ad. The car was located in Ohio, and I was in Colorado. My Father and I flew out there to test drive and inspect the car in person. After finalizing the deal, the car was transported via truck to Colorado. This was in October of 2017.
What got you interested in the 964?
My interest in the 964 began in my teens. My Father always admired Porsche's, and made a note of each passing 911 growing up. I contribute my interest to the brand and the 964 to my Father.
What makes the 964 so special?
The 964 is so special to me because it represents a key stage in the 911's life. Second to last air-cooled 911, last classic design with "Torpedo Tube" headlights, no traction or stability aids. Just a raw sports car, with the classic heritage in the most modern form.
Have you made any modifications to your 964?
When I purchased my car, it was completely stock. I have since completely overhauled the suspension with new Bilstein Coil-overs, refreshed control arm bushings, spring plates and sway-bars. In addition to the suspension, the brakes have been rebuilt and new rotors and pads installed throughout. The brake calipers were powder-coated to match the OEM Cup 1 wheels I also bought for the car. On the inside, the radio has been deleted, RS door cards installed and MOMO GT2 Steering Wheel fitted.
I love the driving experience. As much as I love to look at the car, the driving is what puts a smile on my face. Having just one Spring to modify the car so far, 2 friends and I road-tripped to Rennsport VI in September of 2018. Putting about 3,500 miles on the car in the process, we only took back roads, and stopped to admire the country every chance we had on our way to Laguna Seca. One of the images attached is us three in Utah on day 2 of the trip to CA. I plan to take at least 1 big road trip every year in this car, and hope other 964 owners get out on the open road to enjoy the experience as I plan to.
