Come as your favorite character or just enjoy the art. Spend the day wandering through Hollywood Dream Machines and explore the Cosplay Academy and Pop-up Gallery.

Includes access to the daytime event. Explore the newest exhibit Hollywood Dream Machines as you enjoy the Cosplay Academy, and Artist Alley.

For more than 100 years, Hollywood has painted a picture of what the future may look like. In all of these “imagined futures”, cars or car-like transportation as well as costuming has played an integral part of the storyline. Celebrating Hollywood’s vision of the future, the museum will hold a Cosplay Day.

Costume Guidelines

While we admire and encourage creativity in all cosplay costumes, we are a family museum. Please respect general museum guests and dress conservatively. The Petersen Automotive Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to any costumes deemed inappropriate. 

Please read the following guidelines to ensure the safety of other museum guests and display vehicles.

Please, NO

  • Large Props/Weapons of any kind

    • With the exception of our exhibitors, all large props/weapons must be stored with our Security team

  • Costume pieces that protrude more than 5” from your body (including, but not limited to: stilts, horns, tails, etc.)

  • Blood or Gore

  • Noise-makers (including, but not limited to: whistles, bells, horns, etc.)

  • Backpacks or oversized bags

  • Food or Beverages 

  • Tripods

Small props the maximum size of a DSLR camera must be attached to your person or costume. These pieces must be comprised of soft material. No metal props allowed.

Water is allowed in a clear water bottle or reusable bottle.

The Petersen Automotive Museum staff reserves the right to deny entry to any props deemed a potential hazard to our guests or exhibition spaces. Thank you for your understanding.

The Petersen Automotive Museum is dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience and will not tolerate harassment of any kind. Guests asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

The Petersen Automotive Museum reserves the right to issue anything from a verbal warning, to the removal of any offending guests from the premises, without a refund.

If you are being harassed, or notice someone else is being harassed, please notify a member of the Petersen Automotive Museum Security Staff immediately.
