1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6
The 906 was one in a series of lightweight race cars developed under Ferdinand Porsche’s grandson, Ferdinand Piëch. Drag-reducing features included a generously rounded windscreen, cutoff “Kamm” tail and covered headlights. Its tubular space frame, which replaced the steel chassis of the 904, supported a lightweight fiberglass body. One of the original Ben Pon Racing Team Holland cars, #134 was raced by Gijs van Lennep, later a Porsche factory driver and Le Mans winner.
