Picture yourself cruising through our museum, surrounded by iconic cars and legendary exhibits, all while sharing your knowledge and love for automobiles with fellow enthusiasts from around the world. As a member of the Petersen Pit Crew, you'll be at the heart of our operation, providing the horsepower needed to fuel our programs and inspire the next generation of gearheads.
All Petersen Pit Crew Volunteer Positions are varied and flexible.

Go on a journey of discovery with museum visitors as they experience the Petersen galleries. Chat. Share car stories. Ask questions. Make connections. And explore the art, industry, and history of the car together by engaging guests in conversational learning.

Engage with families as they explore the hands-on experiences inside the Cars Mechanical Institute at the Rob and Melani Walton Discovery Center, designed through a groundbreaking partnership with Disney / Pixar. Help them learn more about the science behind cars, design their own personalized race car, or get inspired at one of the art and design stations.

Take students on a journey of exploration by facilitating fun, hands-on, and interactive educational experiences at the brand-new Petersen Automotive Museum. Partner with fellow volunteer educators to lead gallery talks, science and engineering demos, arts and crafts activities, and so much more for K-12 students visiting on a field trip

Join us as a Cruise-In volunteer at the legendary Petersen Museum! Cruise-Ins are a must-see event, happening once or twice a month, where car enthusiasts come together to showcase their incredible rides. As a volunteer, you'll be right in the action, helping check people in and parking these amazing cars. It's a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the automotive world, meet fellow enthusiasts, and be part of an unforgettable experience.
