Meet Casey, Mechanic at the Petersen Museum

Stories of the Petersen

As the son of a mechanic, cars have always been a part of my world. I had always been interested in them but had very little hands-on experience. After high school, I knew that I liked working with my hands, but my interests at the time led me to study social sciences in college. After my first year of feeling uninterested and burnt out in what I was studying, I took a break to sell auto parts. Learning and understanding how cars worked during my job became incredibly interesting to me, leading me to go back to college to further my career as an automotive mechanic.

I'm very grateful that my career has brought me to a place like the Petersen, where I can teach and show kids of all ages the importance of hands-on mechanical learning. The reach of the Petersen allows kids from all walks of life to experience the importance of everything from changing a tire on their own to advanced engine work.
