Ride the Zephyr

This 1937 Lincoln Zephyr belonged to a Vietnam veteran who, upon returning from his tour of duty, abandoned the car in his mother’s driveway, where it sat for decades before Rick Dore acquired it for James Hetfield. With “Voodoo Priest,” Hetfield wanted to preserve the spirit of the original 1937 Zephyr. Alterations to the car included elongating the fenders, smoothing its exterior, and giving the rear of the car a pronounced teardrop shape to enhance its Art Deco styling.
