Built and Rebuilt by Chip Foose

This sleek black roadster was originally sketched by Art Center College of Design graduate Chip Foose. In 1993, Foose was hired full-time by noted hot rod builder Boyd Coddington, eventually rising to the rank of President of Hot Rods by Boyd. While working for Boyd, Foose designed the Boyd Air, Boydster I and II, and the Sportstar. Foose left to start his own company, Foose Design, in 1998. Though the car has gone through a few paint and style changes, at one time, this roadster was known as the Boydster II. It appeared painted yellow as seen on the pilot of the new Titus television show, yet this configuration is actually closest to the original design Chip had for the car. It is in this final conception that the car earned the 2000 Grand National Roadster Show honor of winning the coveted status as America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award. Foose’s website claims that the sale of 0032 to the Petersen Museum helped him establish his Newport Beach factory, the former location of his popular reality show Overhaulin’.
